Medicina, pintura y cosmos

Abstrac

Rafael Martínez Sierra, a pharmacology and therapeutic professor, has cultivated for a long time the passion for painting pictures in his leisure time. By this lecture, he wants to share the style evolution that his painting experienced upon the onset of a macular degeneration. Whether these noticeable changes were caused by the retina disease or rather due to the unconscious search for a new painting language, is something that not even the painter is able to answer. The professor wants also to reflect, at the light of his double physician and patient role, about medical features that are not usually treated in academic text books but have a high impact on patients wellbeing.
